Perfect

Wake up in my huge apartment on designer sheets

You’d never guess it took too many Xanax just to get me to sleep.

Put on my designer dress, designer purse, designer shoes;

I look like what everyone would want to be if they got to choose.

You’d never guess that I am really not okay.

Sweep my expensive makeup all over my flawless skin.

If this is the good life, I no longer want in.

If you drink enough, if you snort enough, if you take enough,

Maybe it will finally be enough.

You’d never guess that I am really not okay.

Make my way to my dream job in this fabulous city

Hair, makeup, wardrobe flawless – but I’ve never felt quite so shitty.

Take another pill, drink or line, my dear

Eventually that will make how fortunate I am entirely clear.

You’d never guess that I am really not okay.

I am going to be fine, really, I would never lie -

Why the hell not, I’m perfect, aren’t I?
