It’s not raining in my heaven, nor sunny or too cold

It’s not shining in my heaven and there’s nothing bright to behold

My heaven is indifferent, Just a different place from thee

My heaven is nothing like I thought it ought to be

It’s not the centre of the universe, nor is it far above

Nor is it an obscure place away from the people that I love

There are no flowers in my heaven, no castles in the sky

Nothing to mark the passing days that slowly pass me by

I am alone in my heaven a million miles from home

A million miles from anywhere, a million miles alone

I can’t see you in my heaven, but still I know your there

Your presence it surrounds me I can feel you everywhere

My heaven is my prison a petty place to be

But now there is no death, to come and rescue me

My soul it aches to hold you but wait for you it must

Wait for you forever, in heaven I must trust
