19-The Edge Of Midnight
The moon rises in the sky
I cling the cringe of a far off cry
It vibrates within my own heart
I know this is only the start
I perch on a branch and watch down below
As the souls inside them glow
It’s the edge of midnight
And the time is right
My heart flutters with excitement
I latch on to a human’s scent
I leap out of the darkness
Her attempt to run is useless
I catch her with little work
I feel her body beneath me jerk
The fear in her eyes is intense
But thrill within me is immense
I lower my mouth to her throat
Near the caller of her coat
I sink my teeth into her soft skin
The crimson blood brings to my face a grin
I caught her towards the edge of midnight
twas such a short little fight.
