Some in the USA want to impose their religious beliefs on children in the public schools

Religion in the Public Schools?

By Elton Camp

Religious zealots can be cause for alarm

Put them in charge and there’ll be harm

Their dream is to use the public schools

To indoctrinate our kids with church rules

Why, these fanatics will even dare

To advocate imposing forced prayer

Of course, it must end “in Jesus’ name”

Though some may not believe the same

The Bible they want the school to read

To reading the Koran they’d never accede

Try the Book of Mormon, they’d have a fit

As you’d expect from a religious hypocrite

What right have they to impose their view

Set themselves as judges of what is true

Their arrogance is exceeded by their gall

“We’re extremely righteous,” they will call

Church schools their children should attend

In public schools, religious liberty extend

Some good points Elton, I don't believe in religious schools at all as they are divisive. People of all religions should attend the same schools.

Garry, I agree. Religious schools are common in the USA. They typically teach children not to think, but to accept blindly the teaching of the church that owns them. We sent our daughter to the public schools. Elton
