A young man, he wasn't more than 35, was holding his newborn baby daughter. He held her, and rocked her, and kept her from crying. \"Daddy,\" he thought to himself. And he saw love in her eyes, and felt love in his heart.

The same man, he couldn't be more than 40, held his daughter's hand, and lead her to the school bus, on her first day of school. He watched her walk away for the first time. But, she turned and ran back to him. \"Daddy,\" she said, and kissed him goodbye. And he saw love in her eyes and felt love in his heart.

Same old man, he wasn't more than 50, waiting for his daughter, she was coming home from a date, with the boy he didn't like. She walked into the room, tears streaming down her face. \"Daddy,\" she said. And he welcomed her into his arms and held her until the crying stopped. And he saw love in her eyes, and felt love in his heart.

Same old man, he was nearing 60, walking with his daughter. She wore a white dress, and looked so beautiful, the man knew he just couldn't give his baby away. But, she smiled at him, and kissed him, and murmured, \"Daddy.\" One last time before she became the beautiful woman he raised her to be. And he saw love in her eyes and felt love in his heart.

Same old man, now he was 70, holding his daughter's hand, as she brought his grandchild into the world. She cried and he cried, and he held his new grandson. She embraced him, and together they looked at the new baby. She grinned at him, and said \"Granddaddy.\" And he saw love in her eyes, and felt love in his heart.

Same old man, so old now, lying in his hospital bed. His daughter came in the room and smiled at him, even though he could see the tears behind her smile. She sat on the end of his bed and held both of his hands and comforted him until he started to go to sleep. His daughter began to cry, and managed a smile, and said \"Goodbye Daddy.\" And he knew there was love in her eyes and he felt love in his heart one last time.
