There are kids who do not boast
They are good kids, waiting to be found
Those among them have academic secrets
Though only their unorganized journals know of these
That they're struggling in mathematics, or perhaps English
And the only reason for poor grades in English is because of a peculiarly odd 'ship with the unusually tall teacher
So they write things like this,
Hoping someone who picks it up might understand
The disabilities of Emma Ruth
In which mathematics she fails the tests
Even though she listens really hard,
Does the homework,
And tries to understand
The unknowing teacher doesn't get it, I suppose
He has better things to worry about,
Like little babies in Africa,
Or the next door neighbor's cat's death by car
So, Emma Ruth's math's teacher goes on continuing the lesson
In which Emma Maris doesn't understand
Therefore,
Let it be known!
That when it rains at school
Emma Ruth understand s the problems given
Furthermore, there should be rain everyday
So Emma Ruth will understand mathematics
And maybe precipitation
And why people do and say stupid things
