He chuckled as he watched her from afar. She was struggling to lift herself up in the air, to get her chin over a bar two feet higher than she was. Not that that stopped her. Nothing stopped her. She was determined and strong willed. He liked that. His blue eyes flashed and sparkled in awe at the girl standing not ten feet away. Slowly, he edged closer quietly, not wanting to make his presence known.
She sensed someone behind her. Slowly, arming herself for the worst, she turned. Only to knock into a rock hard chest. A rock hard bare chest.A ripped rock hard bare chest. She glanced up only to find herself lost in the deep blue eyes of this stranger. Only it wasn’t a stranger. It was her childhood love, her first love.At the time she’d been too terrified to talk to him, worried he’d end up hurting her. And now he stood not six inches away.
He smiled once, his charming smile that had all the girls swooning over him. “You want some help?”
She smirked, hands on her hips. “No thanks, I think I’m doing it right.” She turned and jumped for the bar.
He laughed openly at her failed attempts at pull-ups. She turned again to face him. “You think you can do better?”
His eyes shone with the excitement of a challenge. “Yeah, I think I can.” And with that he grabbed onto the bar, and with ease performed twenty pull ups, upside down.
She watched; her mouth agape. His muscles flexed in his arms with each fluid motion. His abs rippled, and a thin sheen of sweat covered his bare broad shoulders.
Nimbly he jumped down, a smile on his face. “And that is how a real man does it.”
She looked up at him, determined to prove him wrong. “I could so do that.”
He nodded at her, unbelieving. He held back fits of laughter when she ended up tangled in the bar. Her legs above her head and her arms twisted around her torso. And suddenly, she fell.
He held back his smile as he helped her up. “Now can I help you?”
She brushed herself off, pretending to deeply consider his offer. “If you must.”
And so he helped her, holding her by her waist. The grin was wiped from his face when he noticed how her hair fell forwards over her face, how light and energetic her eyes were. Suddenly his hands dropped and she dropped down to her feet.
She looked at him confused, and slowly he bent, and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “As long as you love me, I’ll tell you that you have the best pull ups in the world.”
