I wake up suddenly, slowly adjusting to the light streaming in from the windows. I moan and roll over and close my eyes again. Another day. How I wish I could stay here, and just sleep forever. The reason being, my dream world is much more exciting than the real world. Summer, peace, beautiful places. But mostly when I am sleeping, I just dream about my favourite place. It's amazing, I wish it were real. In the far off distance there is a crystal waterfall, and in the meadow there are pretty deep purple flowers, and tall blades of grass, around four feet tall. Stunning silver clouds fly over a mesmerising purple sunset. Whenever I visit this place, I lie in the field, watching everything around me. It's so calm, peaceful. No worries when I am here. Only happiness. It's perfect.
"Kelsey! Get up now!"
No. I shuffel about, determined not to leave my dream world. I am not in any rush to leave here. I will stay here for as long as I want. This world is paradise. A soft breeze blows through the grass, sending a shiver down my spine. Birds fly overhead, crying out loudly. A sea nearby, I can now see. Dolphins clicking to one another, jumping in and out of the blue water.
And now is the best part. I see her. She walks towards me, smiling sweetly like she used to, like she still does, at leats here. My sister, Haily. She died in a car accident, yet I still see her now. She's beautiful. Smooth brown hair that goes just past her shoulders, crystal blue eyes, tall, pale skin. She takes my hand and pulls me up, chuckling.
"Kelsey, what have you been doing?" She asks, laughing quietly. "All of this...!"
I cannot reply. I just smile back, gazing sadly. I wish this were real. I would give anything to make this moment and this place real.
"Come on, Kelsey. We're going somewhere." "Where are we going?"
"You'll see." She begins to run, still holding my hand tightly, towards the sunset and the sea. She giggles, and lets go of my hand to run further.
"Haily, where are you taking me?!"
"Shh! Hurry up!"
The alarm clock jolts me back to cruel reality, and I'm forced to leave my imaginary paradise.
