A stone
That has been here
For hundreds of years
Cold
Like my heart when you found me
But the longer you hold it in your hand
The warmer it gets
Grey
Like my skies in the beginning
But the longer you handle it
The shinier it becomes
Round
Because our love has come full circle
From a spark that was kindled
All those years ago
Smooth
As two hearts and souls
Have meshed together
Into one
My Rock
Because I was drowning
And you rescued me
A simple token
With so much meaning
That only we understand
So think of me
When you hold this pebble
As you are holding my heart in your hands
