O sun

O stars—

Wherest thou be?

Did ye not say by thy own

Mouth

That thou would always watch over me?

And did thou not speak words of truth

  And tell thy people

That they might do good

And live as ye would

In thy heavens?

That we may be as glorious as ye?

Thou dost speak lies!

Lies! unto thy people!

For neither shall we be glorified,

But we shall suffer for our mistakes.

Our human mistakes,

That we have no choice but to make.

Thou dost speak lies.

For if ye existed, ye would speak

Unto me.

A prayer as insignificant as mine.
