Pink wisps of light dance on the trees

The monuments to man stand at attention

Water glistens with the hue of night

Here the calls of the famous and the small

See the taxis weave down Constitution Avenue

Smell the rock and stone quarried to make the halls

of government.

About it all is the rush of manking

Coming to and fro

Up and down the avenues and boulevards

Massachusetts and Connecticut, C and K.

Is there any place better in the Spring than

Washington DC?
