There used to be this little girl

Who got hurt far too easily

Every slight, every criticism, every harsh word

They were like barbed arrows

Piercing her heart.

Then she changed.

She got older; ‘grew up’…

Only she didn’t.

She just found an

Old rusty suit of armor

To wear

Now her armor is wearing out, and

She doesn’t know how to fix it.

Once the armor’s completely gone, what’s

Going to happen to her?

She’s used it for so long that

She’s grown over-accustomed to its

Protection.

She’ll be a little girl

In a big girl’s world,

With nothing between

Her

And the

Monsters.
