Just the two of me

Deep underneath this shell I hide,
There are really two of me inside,
Watch my eyes, can you see,
The constant struggle inside of me?
It takes place in day or night,
My own battle of dark and light,
But in the end, a compromise,
That I will speak both truth and lies,
There is a mask that we all wear,
Whether thick as ice or thin to tear,
Some wear their mask with glamour and pride,
While others turn to run and hide,
Well with us, you see, it’s kinda different,
Because our mask is all twisted and bent,
But just like the one that must wear it most,
It seems to look fine on a wicked host.
