I know this hurting will pass

Time will kiss my wounds and compel me to move from this grave of dreams

I know this sense of shattering that consumes me is nonsensical

I still live as I did before, I still breathe as I did before

I know that to be truth

But truth means so little to the tears of an irrational heart

The solace of future days is not my mine to have in this moment

Shadows bare witness to my unraveling, to the breaking of my logical haven

My heartstrings are left too frozen to summon emotion of any harmony

All I feel is wanting, aching

So I drown myself in a bottle and an old love song

Waiting in the waters of these clichéd sanctums to feel the winds of better days
