Our lives, and our future. Peaceful as the first snowflake of winter touching our tongue. Violent as lightning flashing across the night sky above our eyes. Erratic as the tectonic plates shaking the earth beneath our feet. Contradicting at every twist and turn. This is the future we leave our children. A future where girls are told to love themselves the way they are by their mothers and fathers, yet in every magazine, television show, commercial, and song lyric, a young girl is told she must be sexual, thin, and available to be accepted by the world. A future where boys are told that the only way to be a man, is sleep with multiple women instead of waiting for one. A future where our country is divided on politics, race, religion, and our freedom of speech is being slowly taken away. This future we are creating for our children is not one of freedom and morals. The future we are leaving our children is one where others judge you on your beliefs, your race, your very way of life. It is a future that is unjust, broken, and corrupt. It is not to late to change the future for the next generation. People have said that we need to leave a better country to our children. Why can't we leave better children to our country?
