I want to fall gently into that good night(1)
I wait for the dying of the light(1)
Please shroud of darkness blanket me
Take my pain and set me free

I want the nothing that waits before me in clouds of dust(2)
The darkness that grips and drips with rust
A plague on a rat, or a mercury coated hat
Any old way will do

Atlas was cursed to hold the world, but I am not
I let go and death comes, air heavy with rot
Why should I stay, when it is easier to go away?
Death will come, and in peace I will lay
