Gravitating between a dream and reality hoping for the strength to push forward

When you walk past everything feels like a dream

Time slows, and everything looks like it’s shrouded in steam

A feeling wells in my chest that makes me want to scream

I believe in one day that we’ll complete our own team

Your smile and your greeting resumed time again

My chest yells at me to stop being your friend

My thoughts yell at him saying he doesn’t know the end

So, now I’m lost at what message to send

I reciprocate your actions, and return to my den

And like always my thoughts side with my chest against me

Sometimes I wonder why I don’t just let you see

The storm of emotions that are cradled inside

Then I remember I don’t want to hear that word “why?”

I’d feel like I’d be committing the biggest betrayal

Who knew the hardest working muscle would be so frail.

So every time I see you I get stuck in this dream

Where time and space follow a different stream

One day I will speak and hope it’s not too late

For I believe our souls are tied with the thread of fate

I’m only trying to figure out what I should say

So I don’t come on to strong and scare you away

I won’t promise that I’ll be your best

So I plea you don’t compare me to the rest

For it’s not about who’s better than who

It’s about who’s the best fit for you

So I look to the sky for the graces from above

And pray for the strength to confess my love
