Thoughts

Focused on none, but captivated by all.
Limits get placed on the mind to prevent it’s fall.
From what, and already the limits are doomed to fail
Society attempts to chain the brain with bonds so frail
Behold the power, that is the human inquisitiveness.
Why do many believe this is something that needs a fix?
What makes us what we are is the strength of our mind
So I plea with you if you would be ever so kind
Allow our thoughts to hypothesize and conclude
In hopes that we find something about the world is true
For if stagnant, we’d only be as smart as Ptolemy
Us, the center of the universe was quite the folly
Already the mob chants, “Hush, you heretic free thinker.”
But isn’t that the reason we realized cars should have a blinker
Maybe it’s our need to have purpose and love
So we cling to comfort as mother bear to her cub
Yet one day that cub must set out on it’s own
For mother bear will transition, but won’t leave the cub alone
She will have left the fountain of her experiences to draw upon
While we may not have all the solutions we know which are wrong
Question after question and look at what we constructed
Yet who’s to say my philosophy isn’t corrupted?
