We look to books for a great story, but people have some that are just as enticing.

In the pupils of every eye lays a story to be told

Each person receives a certain character as their mold

In a life so fast paced it’s hard to determine who’s who

Some end up being the parasite who you wish you never knew

Some end up being the tree that’ll support you no matter the cost

The way they illuminate the world makes you never feel lost

The problem is there is too much focus on appearance

So we tell the wrong people hi instead of good riddance

Not every book has the most promising cover

But it shouldn’t stop you from investing in one another

As the good book says, “lean not on your own understanding”

What you believe is the end is actually the beginning

There comes a time when we start to feel like Dory

But allow life to run its course and try not to worry

Hold your tongue and open your ears

Dust yourself off and wipe away the tears

Take a deep breath and suppress those fears

Watch the smoke dissipate and smash the mirrors

You’ll clear the path to find your epiphany

You’ll fuel your mind and quench your curiosity

The eyes hold only a summary so to finish the story look to their soul

Watch as some of your previous judgments soon become null

Before long the strings of your hearts begin to intertwine

You’ll ponder why this tree was so hard to find

Only to realize that you should’ve first sought their mind.
