Love is just as strong as hate, if not stronger.

Where is it?

Simple question, there is an object that is meticulously tucked away in some unknown spot. It displays its colors even in the face of tragedy. It rewires the mind in some of the most illogical ways. Who knew it would be constantly confused with its cousin with the same first letter? With that I believe I gave up what “it” is and that’s love. Why is it that it always has to be found after digging through filth?  I am aware of your stare, “What would a hormone lead, impulsive, naïve, adolescent know?” My question back to you is, “Why wouldn’t I know what it is?” Before I even took my first breath of air to cry I was introduced to love, before I could even speak beyond gibberish I was introduced to love, before I could even begin to describe that state of being I was introduced to love. So now all of a sudden that I’ve hit a certain period of my life I’m unaware of what it is? Could you believe me, if I told you that I loved you? Yes, you who I know practically nothing about besides your physical appearance and your actions. Want to know how much I love you? Your kidney is failing, take mine. The world is standing against you, let me stand with you. You don’t want to get out of bed; I’m dragging you out so you can show the world how marvelous you are. A gunman, one in the chamber, and it’s either you or me? Well then it’s going to have to be me. So tell me, do I know what love is? Love is so strong that even I, yes this little shrimp in front of you, can defeat almost any enemy that stands in my way. You want proof, here. Not so long ago, there was a man that shook hands with someone. For clarity’s sake we’ll name one man Bill and the other Thomas. Thomas was the one who engaged the handshake and even told Bill that he loved him, but Bill after realizing what he had done pulled his hand away. Thomas told him, “Don’t worry son, you are still clean.” Afterwards, Bill even began slinging insult, after insult, after insult at Thomas. To which Thomas replied, “Don’t worry Bill I still view you as my brother and nothing you could possibly think of could make me despise you.” Bill perplexed and confused left. So Bill decided he was going to round up a group of his buddies and go after Thomas. They shouted obscenities at him with no response, littered on his lawn to no response. One day they all got dressed up in costumes and called Thomas outside. Thomas told them “Hold on, it’s only June I don’t have any Halloween candy for y’all.” Confused they regrouped with Bill and asked him what now, so they even started a fire out in front of his house. Thomas rushed out, “Hey guys, I didn’t know we were making s’mores and hot dogs. So they finally decided to burn down Thomas’s second home to which he taught and led many a people. Bill in an attempt to disguise his voice called Thomas, “You better be afraid, be very afraid for me and my boys, we’re coming for you.” Thomas replied, “Hey Bill, thanks for calling me I really appreciate it, and I forgive you for what you’ve done, I know you’re a good guy.” Out of frustration, Bill slammed the phone down thinking “What?” One day, Bill spotted Thomas going into a restaurant and he rounded up about 30 of his pals and they surrounded him. Thomas had a steak out and front of him so Bill told him, “Now you listen, we don’t appreciate your presence around this place, so whatever you do to that steak we’ll do that to you, so think extremely hard about what you are going to do to that steak.” So Thomas thought about it a little, picked up the steak and kissed it. The whole restaurant erupted in laughter, and Bill looked up at his pals who were also participating in the humor. Bill commanded that his pals go outside they all looked like they were going to laugh a new six pack on. “Hey, you guys are going to get suspended and lose your privileges!” Bill turned to see, Thomas driving off waving at him and telling him bye. After that day neither Bill nor his pals bothered him again. One man, one man, defeated an entire group that thought of him as beneath them by using what was beating in his rib cage. That story by the way is an account of a former KKK member, Johnny Lee Clary, on how Reverend Wade Watts dismantled them. That my friend is love and don’t let any person or thing take one of your strongest tools away from you. The greatest gift in this world is to love on somebody until they have no choice, but to love you back.
