Reflecting on a break-up.

Well paint me confused,

As the brush strokes the canvas, I feel so used.

Well it’s already done,

I guess the war was lost but the battle’s won.

The clock strikes again,

The romance is over we’ve met our end…So let’s just pretend.

That all is well, and all is all,

The worst is over, survived the fall.

A congregation, of someone’s sins,

A letterhead is where this all begins.

Dear my lover… No Dear my friend,

Erase the nouns, I cannot write in pen.

So far from where we used to be…

Sincerely Evan,

Sincerely me.

Well written poem, However, I cannot meet the message.
I would be pleased to hear from you what did you mean by this poem, that showed clearly that you have the potential to enter the sea of Poetry.

Thank you! It is about a relationship ending. It highlights the strange feeling of being completely close to someone and then becoming strangers. It also is about getting over the break-up and moving on. "The war is over..." The war is the relationship. "The Battle is won" the battle is getting over it. The letter is really a metaphor for the back and forth in someone's mind as they contemplate reaching out to their ex but cannot decide whether they should do it or how to go about it.

Someone said that "Instead of moping, I might as well move on". I really like how you construct your metaphors! :)
