Who says that all love isn't the same? Love who you love, it is your right.

Calling you a sin,

a traitor,

a curse

For being different,

they reply with stinging words,

jaunts,

jeers,

and more.

For loving a boy,

not a girl,

or loving a girl,

not a boy

They snicker,

they fight,

all for you to say goodbye,

to the love of your life

To open the doors to the "right path"

the "right love"

the "right desire"

You beg for the end,

for the end of their sins

For saying,

"You're not right,

your love is corrupt"

But listen

There's no right or wrong path

There is their path

and there is yours,

and there is nothing more wrong

than denying who you are,

for someone else's approval.

It's not who you love, or how you love, but THAT you love!

Very insightful poem, touching, deeply felt, and beautifully poetic. Bravo VM

Thank you. My grandparents are lesbian, so they inspired me to write this.
