This week I kept hearing the word tree used as a negative adjective. Instead I wanted to show that the description of a tree should not be negative.

The tree stood in the park.
Its innocence in the falling leaves.
Its hope pouring from the flowers.
But the tree never moved.
Its bark hid its year.
Its branches reached into the sky.
But the tree never moved.
It breathed with the life of the passersby.
It shook as the children climbed.
But the tree never moved.
It loved with the lovers' etchings.
It hugged the earth with its roots.
But the tree never moved.
It hoped to fly with the birds.
It wished for the magical breath of dawn.
But the tree never moved.
The tree stood in the park.
