Holy Campground

It boomed up from the valleys,
And down from the mountains,
Skimmed across the waters,
and skipped o’er the Flint hills…

The "sound" sent ants to seek holes
and moles to bed with them
into the earth for escape...
This “sound” of a thousand buffalo hoofs,
Over ground of their ancestors,
burst into the air
past the reddened hands
Of old…

This drum-beat
from the past,
still lives in the present,
and guides to the future…

As we listen to the heart-pound
of the TomTom-song,
May we someday dance around
The warm fires found
In the campground…

Of the Great Spirit home.Amen
