You sit and wait

wait for someone to notice

to notice the mask you wear

you wear a smile to hide

hide the pain of many years

many years spent waiting

waiting for someone to care

care about the scars

scars left by a sharp blade

a sharp blade who found

found your company in the dark

the dark place was your hideaway

your hideaway from your mind

your mind which is full

full of thoughts you cannot bear

you cannot bear to see

to see another day

another day, hour, or minutes

minutes spent thinking

thinking of the end

the end of existence
