This is who I am...

They say that they don't want to hurt me

they already have

They say "Oh, you're so innocent."

so be it

I can tell for myself

who I am

I will not ve hurt

I will not break down

I refuse to be left alone

last to know

I refuse to forever be

the third wheel

To forever be

alone

They say

they are sorry

They laugh

While I cry

Not from a shattered heart

but a shattered confidence

Doesn't anyone want me for me?

I wouldn't mind tough love

Becaouse tough is the only way worth loving.

I completely agree with you! The world needs more tough love. Parents need to relearn how to administer tough love to kids. I think to truly care about someone, being honest is the best thing, especially if it's a hard truth or tough love. People can't grow without honesty and that's what tough love is. I'm the youngest of five, so I've rarely had to face tough love, but I wish I had been given it more often. I hate when people tiptoe around, because they don't want to upset me or worry me. I am a strong person; I can handle the truth, and I want the truth! I know myself better than most people around me know themselves. It's a comforting feeling to know I'm more in touch with my inner self than many others out in the world. I too am looking for that someone who wants me for me. They're out there! You just have to keep looking. My confidence when it comes to meeting people is shit, though, especially when trying to meet a woman - something I need to work on. But I don't want to be alone forever, either. I refuse to be a third wheel. Just have to keep your head up and your mind open when you bump into someone. You never know when you'll bump into the one.
