So there I was

Little old me

with no accent

drinking my tea

thinking that I was posh

and that was me

but their little girl looked at me

and she said

I find your accent unsettling

as you switch from posh to chav

and then to deadhead

her comments surely made me go red

But after all these years

of living away from home

I don't quite know where if I fit anymore

a false imitation

a bit of a bore

Never mind

Pick yourself up

and start over again

posh you aint darling

or not even eastender

maybe a fake

a bloody pretender
