Its that time of year again

when you try to please all

who'll you send a card too

or who you will call

and then its all over in a frightful flurry

everything done in a terrible hurry

the turkey turns into a spicy hot curry

the crackers, the presents, the old christmas tree

the chocolates, the brandy, I think I can see

that its all a bit much for an old bird like me

Oh next year i'll be off

I'll fly off somewhere

where there's no bloody rain

perhaps take a train

I'll take it so easy

with a cocktail or two

I'll walk on the beach

and eat lobster for two
