The rain just keeps falling,
like drapes of blue and gray.

But in my mind I'm happy,
for it will go away.

The sun will shine tomorrow,
no clouds will block my sky.

And I will keep on smiling,
or at least I will try.

My parents call it perseverance,
to triumph through the worst.

To never let life get me down,
and to cross that line first.

My friends they call it bravery,
to be a light in the dark.

To do what I can,
and try to leave my mark.

I like to call it hope,
its just my way of thinking.

To see a thousand different chances,
when in fact I'm sinking.

I know that I will triumph,
Because I know that I am brave,

And if the worst does happen,
and all chances pass me by,
I think I will keep smiling,
and as they pass me swiftly,
I think that I will wave.
