I should have seen it coming,
from half a mile away,
I should have seen it coming,
but your game I let you play.

I should have known better,
than to let you back into my life,
Because once again you've caused me,
anguish, guilt and shame.

Around your little finger,
Tightly, I entwine.
And from your heart, I'm banished.
while you're the misery of mine.

Time spent in the moonlight,
So fun did it seem.
Has only sent me backwards,
To those unattainable dreams.

And you told me not to waste my time,
on things that don't matter.
Well your advice I shall take,
and let our friendship's ashes scatter.
