Drifting Into Dreams

Drifting in,

Eyes slowly shutting,

With a heavy sigh,

Imagination starts to take control.

Walking through a forgotten land,

Nothing becomes recognised,

Turning corners to something new that awaits,

The mind is changing course.

Oohs, ahhs and gasps are the elements of surprise.

Have I actually created this?

Flapping of wings.

Trickling of water.

Scurrying of life.

Ancient buildings as tall as they come.

It’s like my own personal secrets kept locked away.

Suddenly the ground begins to shake,

The flapping, trickling and scurrying fade away,

Ancient buildings begin to disappear,

Things begin to become recognised,

What is happening?!

Imagination starts to lose control,

With a heavy sigh,

Eyes slowly opening,

Drifting out.
