Take it Off

Poem by: facmd09

Summary

Often I feel we wear a mask because we are afraid to reveal our true self both emotionally and mentally. This poem is a challenge for us to take it off.

Everyday I feel our society attends a masquerade ball.

Their costumes tend to symbolize bitterness during the fall.

I often wish I could see what lies beneath their masks.

However, I feel their need to eliminate pride is quite a difficult task.

One day they may unveil their vulnerability.

One day they may explore the depths of their souls.

One day they may wear garments that symbolize happiness and comfort.

One day they may discard their willingness to be accepted.

This mission requires your patience and your desire.

We must extinguish this scorching fire.

There is no reason to live in pain.

When you decide to take it off, the pain will turn into the ultimate gain.
