WINNERS OF LOVE IS IN THE AIR COMPETITION

AT LAST! I have finished tabulating the results of the competition. I believe the past days had been especially grueling for all participants. Well, your wait is over! Before I announce the winners, we’ll go through a short review on all participating works. A BIG THANK YOU goes to all participants who had put in effort and time to join this competition.

P.S. Since our participants had taken such pains to write, please at least take a look at these short reviews. Do note that the opinions provided are solely based on my views…

NOVELS

Item #1 – Used Tissue.

Novel: SUICIDE NOTES by DeathAngel

Suicide Notes is a fun read. We follow the protagonist, Garciella, through her downs and ups. For readers who love Cinderella, Suicide Notes is a must-read! DeathAngel has shrewdly used cliffhangers and tons of suspense to tease and captivate her audience. With a strong record of all positive comments, DeathAngel had proven her writing capabilities. Apart from few negligible grammatical/spelling hiccups as pointed out by some critical readers, Suicide notes is a quick-witted read with lots of humor. We must applaud DeathAngel for her smart use of the “Used Tissue” as a form of momento (though I have yet heard more about it as I’d like to).

Unfortunately, this novel is yet to be completed so its ending is still being highly anticipated for.

Item #4 – Toilet.

Novel: TWIST OF FAITH by angellynn

You know there are times when you see a novel with an ordinary cover and title but when you read it, you immediately feel that you could have missed one of the greatest novels you could ever read? Twist of Faith is precisely this type of novel. Angellynn has started off with an intense accident and slowly build up a beautiful romance story. Although the entire novel is 5 chapters long, the sweet and compelling plot allows readers to connect with the novel quickly. Readers are in awe of angellynn’s creativity in her use of a beautiful toilet. Of all entries in this competition, Twist of Faith has shown the highest level of originality in the usage of item. For readers who love to read sweet romance stories with charming descriptions, do not miss out on Twist of Faith!

Item #10 – Bikini.

Novel: WE CAN DO THIS STEP BY STEP by Onni

We Can Do This Step by Step is a very lively and quick-paced read. For readers who had forgotten the “red-faced”, “increased heartbeats” and “breath taken away” moments of teenage love, this novel is highly recommended. Despite the few chapters published, Onni has already swept readers off their feet with the whirlwind emotions of a teenage girl Haley. Teenage insecurity issues plague this protagonist as she shyly tries on a bikini for the first time in her life. Be prepared to go squealing as you read on with the excitement and fun of teenage love!

Unfortunately, this novel is yet to be completed and the story development is in the initial stages.

Item #16 – Tampon.

Novel: A GIRL, A PLAYBOY AND A TAMPON by EternalVampyre

EternalVampyre had taken a tampon and magically constructed an exciting and entertaining romance novel. What do we get when we’ve got a girl, a playboy and a tampon? A hilarious story as penned by EternalVampyre. For those who love a taste of exhilarating high school romance, A Girl, A Playboy and A Tampon is not to be missed! With all the hype about tampons, it is no wonder EternalVampyre received positive comments from her laughing audience.

Unfortunately, this novel is yet to be completed and the story development is in the initial stages. EternalVampyre had been teasing her readers by stopping her novel at a cliffhanger! For the sake of all fans, please continue this fabulous novel!

Item #19 – Blood.

Novel: THE TASTE OF VENGENCE by Matius

The Taste of Vengence is a deep, intense and dark novel. Matius had shrewdly manipulated the “blood” to her advantage by giving a “no vampire” novel. This story revolved about how a couple had a thirst for blood and ironically, both were working in the same hospital where patients should be saved isn’t it? As always, Matius gave her work a convincing and lifelike feel where readers get absorbed into the struggles of her protagonist Melanie. We must applaud Matius for her compelling and charming writing style. With tons of vampire stories popping up everywhere, aren’t we glad to have a writer such as Matius who could write otherwise? For all readers out there who would love to read a more creative story, The Taste of Vengence is a must-read!

Unfortunately, this novel is yet to be completed. Matius had paused at a cliffhanger where a third party came into the picture. Please continue!

Item #22 – MSN chat.

Novel: BETWEEN LOVE AND REGRET by schatzi

How often do you get to read a novel that was well-planned for? Between Love and Regret is precisely one of such rare novels. Schatzi had played about the complexity of the affairs of the heart with her mature take on love. As we grow older, our expectations of our partner vary and what happens when it comes to make decisions? It is without doubt that this novel had stood out amongst all entries with schatzi’s delightful and superb writing ability. From the start of the novel, readers were captivated and follow through the entire 29 chapters. Eventually, Between Love and Regret had made its way to readers’ hearts. Schatzi had received tremendous recognition unparalleled by other participants. One of her fans even stated “if you (schatzi) don’t win, I think the contest was rigged,” so what do you think? Read Between Love and Regret to voice your opinion!

Item #29 – Prince.

Novel: DREAMSCAPE ETHEREAL by yuu shindemura

True love is never a bed of roses. Dreamscape ethereal is a magical, heartwarming and tear jerking romance novel. Yuu shindemura had brought his writing abilities up to a miraculous level where readers are enticed by this beautiful story. We follow the protagonist, Kyuji, from his dreams to his lifelong love. Amongst all entries for this challenge, this novel is the only fantasy romance. The author had kept the suspense up in the beginning with a question of whether the two fated lovers will meet. Along the way, there will be twists and heartbreaking moments that define Dreamscape Ethereal as an unbelievably romantic piece. If you are a fan of romance, do not miss out on this novel! Be prepared with tissues as you’ll be crying for “the pretty angel, and the handsome prince…”

SHORT STORIES

Item #12 – Videocam.

Lifezgreateztmyztery12 used her powerful imagination coupled with compelling writing style to bring this story to life. With a high level of suspense, readers are kept constantly at the edge of their seat anticipating for what is to come. In addition to the intense dark plot, the love could between the protagonist and Sarah was cemented with the usage of apt flashbacks. It is no wonder that Death Doesn’t Come Easy was awarded with the most number of likes across all entries for this competition. What are you still waiting for?! Go on and read Death Doesn’t Come Easy!

Item #13 – Hot Sizzling Kiss.

Short Story: THE WINGS OF LOVE by rorgon94

Fascinating is one word to sum up The Wings of Love. The story revolves around fantasy, science fiction and romance. Rorgon94 had skillfully combined all three genres to come up with an interesting and suspenseful story. We follow through the thoughts and emotions of both the female and male protagonists in this story. Rorgon94’s intense writing style has captivated his readers to move on a rather quick pace. Unlike the conventional kiss, a hot sizzling kiss in the sky was cleverly introduced at the end of The Wings of Love. If you love strange and yet beautiful romance story, The Wings of Love is a must-read!

Item #18 – Bitch.

Short Story: THE TRUTH OF OUR LOVE by jennoria

Jennoria clearly surprised her readers with The Truth of Our Love. The plot started by putting the protagonist, Brianna, on a dangerous position with a difficult decision to make. By choosing her lover over her own life, jennoria had beautifully displayed the core of true love. With a straightforward writing style, she captured her reader’s attention all the way till the end. Apart from the concept of love, jennoria had introduced another interesting notion about how your looks relate to your heart. With the exception of some comments on negligible spelling/grammatical errors, jennoria had received major support with a high number of likes. If you love happy endings, do drop by to read The Truth of Our Love!

Item #26 – Steamy Shower.

Short Story: LOVE IS THE MEANS TO DEATH by XxXxSamanthaxXxX

Love is the Means to Death is a spine-chilling and eerie supernatural romance. Samantha had built up the tensions and structured the story in a way that complements its content. Readers were filled with questions as to who is the ghost. With her vivid imagination, Samantha managed to spook her audience. The concept of love was extended in Love is the Means to Death with the concept of a love from the previous life. For readers who thought there’ll be some kinky actions in the shower, please be prepared for a disappointment as this story is strictly below PG13. However, if you love to read a story that is original and thrilling, Love is the Means to Death is not to be missed!

Item #30 – Stripper.

Short Story: AN UNLIKELY ANGEL by BenArsenal

An Unlikely Angel is indeed true to its name. BenArsenal had cleverly twisted the “stripper” given to an angel. Though short, this story gives readers a sense of renewed hope. The perfect balance between dialogue and descriptions allows readers to follow the emotions of the protagonist, Rob, closely. Despite the fact that a stripper was involved in this story, BenArsenal had skillfully shied away from graphic details in a way that complements the true meaning behind An Unlikely Angel. The fact that many readers used the word “engaging” to describe this romance story has already proved BenArsenal’s ability to connect with his audience. Do you believe in angels? Read An Unlikely Angel before giving your answer!

AND THE WINNING ENTRIES ARE:
