I look down at my hands as they start to shake. I can feel my insides curling up. I'm terrified of what might happen. Then suddenly you grab my hand and smile reassuringly. I try to smile back but it comes out as a grimace instead.
' It's okay ' you whisper. ' Everything is going to be fine, trust me. '
And I do just like that. You release my hand as I step forward with a glance your way, but your not there. I reach out as if to touch where you were, but nothing.
Then I hear you laughing, not the normal laughter but a dark cruel laugh, my blood runs cold.
I freeze terrified of what was about to occur. But what hurts the most is that I trusted you completely, never doubting that you would ever want to hurt me.
I let the tears fall freely as I close my eyes and let the darkness take me.

Tragedy incarnate is what you so poignantly describe here & my heart breaks to think that someone could do such a cruel thing... I know they do, having been a victim of the same, yet, it always saddens me that there are those who perpetrate such deceptions...
