Bullying is a perennial sickness in society. These are persons who can be so insecure as to find their courage and toughness in hounding the small and the weak. My granddaughter, Andrea Krystel, 15 years old, actually created this piece, which am sharing with you all. It is her experience at one time in Singapore, where she is living and attending school. The bullying done to her was a nightmare she had constantly in her dreams and made her crying non-stop each time. With this poem she created she expressed, this traumatic feeling that no one should ever experience if bullying can be stopped. She won first place in this verse writing contest on the subject matter, among many others, who participated in her school.

I cry myself to sleep at night
Just hoping it would stop.
Perhaps tomorrow it will cease
Then again, maybe not.

You pushed me and you poked me.
You called me hurtful names.
To me it's like a prison,
To you it's fun and games.

Your heart is as cold as ice
But it doesn't even deserve that.
Mine was once colorful,
But you have moulded it to darkest black.

I hate you, I hate everyone.
No one could be trusted.
Are you proud of what you've done?
You've turned my soul into dust.

If there was a door I could open
A simple path I could tread.
I don't want to be stuck here forever,
In this endless spiral of dread.
