Little Bird

I’m trapped behind these bars
My wings were torn away,
And my feet shackled to the floor.

All I want is my freedom.
Just give me a way to escape,
Please,
Set me free.

You wanted to see beauty every day,
To hear a song, so sweet,
That even Satan would weep.
To feel the soft brush of feathers on your skin.

But you threw me into this cage,
And took my wings away so I cannot fly.
You crushed my spirit, so I will not sing.
You stole my freedom, so I lost my beauty.

Freedom,
All I want is my freedom.
Please let me go,
Please,
Set me free.
