This is something I wrote when I noticed a dark shape in the window when I was touring a university in the evening. Read it and please give me your comments!

The Mystery Man in the Window

Every night, rain or shine,

A man appears in the house across from mine,

Sometimes he reads, sometimes he sleeps,

Sometimes he ponders as the night weeps.

Every night I see him, a lonely silhouette,

As the hand on the clock does a graceful pirouette.

Oft I imagine he is Daddy-Long-Legs,

Or Sherlock Holmes in his suit of tweed.

Except that I’m not Judy Abbott,

Neither is this Baker Street.

He is an intangible mystery

Which I’d really like to solve and see.

But someday I’ll meet him, someday I’ll know,

Just who is that mystery man in the window!
