This poem is basically a sweet love story. (I know, practically all I write are love stories.) It's about a girl who fell in love with an unlikely guy, and..let's just say sometimes things do happen the same way twice. I hope you enjoy this.

As I walk down the aisle with my Daddy next to me,

You stand there with tears in your eyes.

And in my mind is "How can this be?

That someone like you sees something in me?"

We’re steps apart now.

My heart’s pounding faster and faster.

In the time before we profess our vows,

I reflect on how I fell for you...literally.

It was September 14th of our junior year.

You were captain of the football team.

And through all the noise, your voice was all I could hear,

But I didn’t exist.

As I began walking down the stairs,

I tripped and fell.

Next thing I knew, old Nurse McCree was giving me stares.

And then, there you were.

I don’t know what you saw.

But now, here we are.

"Sweetie, watch your step!" Daddy calls,

I’ve lost my footing and can tell I'm falling,

And then, there you are.
