This was written by myself along with two other girls, Shelby and Scarlett. It's about a woman who returns to her hometown, only to discover that almost everything has changed because of the wrath of a hurricane...the eerie thing is we wrote this just months before Hurricane Katrina. Please feel free to leave comments. Thanks.

I used to live in a town by the sea

Then a hurricane brought a great wave

It washed away all my memories

Except for the place where we prayed

Tides of color, a Church by the sea

Stain glass windows stare back at me

Through the glass is that cold blue sea

Washing tides of color back home to me

No one can fix my broken heart

A life of sweetness now tastes tart

A girl grown up, without any cares

"Will I ever go back? Will I ever dare?"

Tides of color, a Church by the sea

Stain glass windows stare back at me

Through the glass is that cold blue sea

Washing tides of color back home to me

I go to the beach, back to my home

But there’s nothing left; I feel so alone

Nothing seems familiar - it leaves a bitter taste

Everything is gone except for one special place

Tides of color, a Church by the sea

Stain glass windows stare back at me

Through the glass is that cold blue sea

Washing tides of color back home to me
