Oh captain my captain

 where are we going.

It's hard to press on

without even knowing.

The weight of the waves.

The wind that is blowing.

The stars overhead

which direction they 're showing.

My captain my captain Where are we going?

My captain my captain

where have we been.

It's such a long time since I lifted my chin.

The sun has gone down

The sadness crept in.

The chill of the night crawling under my skin.

Oh captain my captain where have we been?

Oh captain my captain

where are we now

I walk back and forth from stern to bow .

The puzzle I solve.

The way I learned how .

The answer's inside me

to freedom I vow.

Oh captain my captain

where are we now?

Oh captain my captain

your ship is going down.

The mistakes of you ego

You surely will drown.

The life raft I made

while you called be a clown.

Now I am my own captain

so who wears the frown.

Oh captain my captain

Your ship is going down.

Now I am captain my captain

on a plane of my own.

The wind is my water

over oceans I've flown

The world that I see

The ways I have grown .

The Sun begins to rise

Some how I've alwaysknown

that I am captain my captain

on a plane of  my own.
