I've never kissed anyone and this is how I imagine it to be :)

Time slowed.

Her eyes, which were staring at the ground, slowly travelled up his body. His bare feet, his old jeans torn at the knee, hands stuck in the front pockets, the grey shirt that hung loosely off of his broad shoulders, and then his face. His sideways smile, the freckles that dappled his cheeks, the deep, dark green eyes with golden specks, and the chestnut brown hair that fell on his forehead and swept neatly to the right. She finally met his eyes and kept his seductive gaze.

She felt her face warm and smiled nervously. He gave her a questioning look, as if for permission. She returned the stare without any doubt.

He took a slow step towards her; their faces now inches apart.

“Lily,” he breathed in her ear. His breath sent tingles down her spine.

He took her warm hand in his and played with her fingers, tracing his thumb on the back of her hand. She gripped his hand to hold him there, for him to know that she wanted this, placing her fingers in between his. He reached for her back with his other hand and gently pushed her closer towards him, their chests touching now.

“Lily, relax,” he said, feeling her heart race.

She just nodded.

He released his hand from her hold and cupped her chin, looking her into the eyes with his playful gaze. He closed the distance between them slowly, until their lips made contact. And they were kissing. Innocently, at first, gently. His hands went behind her neck and played with her hair sweetly. She could smell his cologne on him, a faint musky, spicy scent.

He pulled away, much to Lily’s discontent.

“Lily,” he whispered, still stroking her hair.

She didn’t let go of him. “Grant?”

He kissed her cheek softly. “I love you.”

She breathed out. The world shifted and suddenly everything was right. She looked at him and noticed his questioning look, and understand then how vulnerable he was then. She realized how she could hurt him and rejected the notion immediately. She could never imagine giving him pain. “I love you too,” she answered him.

The scared look had left him and then he grinned widely. And he was bending down towards her and they were kissing again. It was more passionate this time, more intense than before. She was pressing harder against him, unable to get close enough. His hands explored her back as she held onto his shoulders partly to keep her balance, so she wouldn’t fall off the earth. He softly bit her lips as he kissed her.

She never knew how long they stood there, oblivious to the world around them. She wouldn’t be surprised if it had been a few minutes, or if it had been thirty. It was the start of something knew and she would never forget it.
