Drift slowly through the night,
Rolling over hills and under bridges,
Trying to get to where you don’t know.

The night pressing on your eyes,
Streetlights guiding like stars,
Fallen from Jerusalem skies.

Driving through the trench coat blackness,
Trying to find your way out,
Trying to find a place to run free.

Oppressing rule bound life,
Too much for now.
Freedom is a joke in Congress.

So I roll on in the night,
Searching for what I don’t know.
Searching for a fair life and a fair shot.
