Sidewalks steam, and heat screams,
Keeping you far from the elusive land of dreams.

Sun strikes the eyes, burning away,
While the plants thrive on her rays, then wilt in the heat.

Waves crash on waiting shores,
relieving the tired children’s sand baked feet.

The dull hum of the AC everywhere,
cooling all the bodies and assuring us, summer is here.
