When things get tough and life looks dim;
When darkened clouds come rolling in;
When dreams blacken and give way;
When the hope of light begins to decay;
When every road leads to despair;
When all I have is less than fair;
When I can not live yet can not be;
Can you carry me?

When pain under every memory lies;
When long forgotten tears sting my eyes;
When subsided fears rise to reign
When in suffering my desires are lain;
When even gentle winds burn my face;
When I am little more than a lost case;
When silence stirs a churning sea;
Can you carry me?

When bitter winters cling to tight;
When heavy rains begin to bite;
When tortured cries fall on deaf ears;
When engulfing shadowz from corners pear;
When the hate and anger slowly unfurls;
When sands of desperation knot black pearls;
When I can not rise from fallen knee;
Can you carry me?

When each breath becomes a strain;
When dark ambitions my soul stain;
When my burried past brings meloncholy;
When my undying pride blinds me;
When darkness takes away my sight;
When the rage in me is released with spite;
When everything inside me screams to be set free;
Can you carry me?
