Living in the darkness; running towards the light
Trying to get closer; hoping it gets bright
Moving forward day after day
Never looking down; afraid to lose my way
Gainin ground but losing time
Down a hollow path with out a sign
The blackness shrowding my own mind
Afraid to stop and think; afraid of what I'd find
Holding back the unshed tears
Afraid to give voice to silent fears
An empty void my dreams and nightmares bind
One that holds close all I've tried to leave behind
An awakening past that refuses to die
A distant reality; an ugly lie
An awkwardness too heavy to bear
A weakness in the fabric beginning to tear
Blind by choice to torturous scenes
Deaf to all the cries and screams
Losing heart and numbing limb
Still the light is growing dim
