I’m selfish
disguised in my skin
Inward pain transformed to outward gain
Will I see the corpses left behind
Find the courage to stop
Is it important
What difference does it make?
Choose to be better
Or more self centered
two of me I can’t always see
I’m drowning in pity
Waiting for the chance to be witty
Words chosen for truth
Or exposing my youth
Have I changed these years
Realized my fears
Such simple ideas
carried within
hold so much weight
Can it be so easy
live in peace
love one another
Whats wrong dreamer
can we take all of you
And share it with the world
Ideas pass on
even after you’re gone
feelings in my mind
don’t have a way out
Never a day worked
for what I wanted
waited
for it
to come to me
What was it?
will it measure up to the dream?
Is it fame and fortune
Recognition
a job well done
Self respect
Exactly what am I looking for?
choices and fate
hard work and luck
The reason
We all wish to know
