He was standing there. Watching people pass without a care. Holding an empty jar. Without a job hes not going far. So i went to solve his little problem. He began to speak as he said. Sir can you spare some change. My mothers ill. i have lost all hope. I cant afford to bring her to the hospital. I can't even pay for my bills. I may look rugged. But im not a bum. I only need one little chance to show that i am sincere. Heres her picture. I looked at him. between his eyes there were tears. Then i changed my stare. As i switched my view to his mother. Then a look of shock sprang across my face. She was my teacher. Back in fifth grade. This must be her son tommy. I used to tease him now im sorry. Interrupted by silencehe replies so can you spare me some change. So i emptied my wallet and filled his jar. As for being guilty i felt no more. I told him go home and help your mom. As i dropped 3 hundred dollars. And a application for a job. He says thanks as he walks away. For that man i had saved his day. I thought as i walked away from that place. Till this moment i call that day saving tommy, gave me amazing grace.
