The echo of the woods
Knows no bounds
Every nook and every cranny
Is known by one
A single oak tree stands alone
In the middle of the woods
With no one around.

The land was bought
By a single man
Cold hearted and cruel
He thrived from his narcissism
He cared for no one
And no one cared for him
But that wouldn’t stop him
From getting what he wanted
And now he wanted the woodlands cleared.

The men came
The very next day
As the man had ordered
They would obey
They would shout to each other
Before they began
To chop down the trees
With the axes held
In the palm of their hands.

One by one
The trees would fall
Until they finally reached the middle
Where the mightily oak tree
Still stood tall
They would shake the tree
As they began to chop it down
Until like all the others
The tree fell down.
