They say “loves overrated”

We’ll just tell ‘em we’re infatuated

This feeling we’ve created

Is beautiful

Because it’s mutual.

They say we’re too young, but they don’t know.

Just tell ‘em “all the more time for it to grow,”

Never let me go

Hold me tight,

Make it right.

They say we’re going to fast,

‘til we’re blue in the face, tell ‘em we’ll last!

I want to be able to look back with you and say “we had a blast.”

We’re not faking.

These are memories we’re making.

They say they take it all back,

That they’re sorry, in fact.

And we acknowledge, yes, against us the odds were stacked.

But it didn’t matter

We reached the top, we conquered the ladder.
