Stone Covered With Flesh

Poem by: foreverhis

Summary

The stone underneath; take it
Reduce it to gravel; break it.
Free me of my humanity
Allow me to embrace my own insanity.

I am stone covered in flesh

I cannot change; I fail the test.

My ways carved beneath my skin,

Make the same mistakes again and again.

The tears run and my hands shake

Looking at the messes I make.

So strip me of my skin!

Of everything that makes me human!

Take it all, take it all away

Lock it in a box and let it decay!

The stone underneath; take it

Reduce it to gravel; break it.

Free me of my humanity

Allow me to embrace my own insanity.

As I was; See me.

As I am; Free me.
